Jeffrey D Pruiett, D.M.D. Dr. Pruiett, a Washington native, has maintained a private practice in Yakima for 25 years and during that time has witnessed the potential for change that dentistry can bring about in the lives of patients. As a graduate of two prestigious institutions, Washington State University and Washington University (St. Louis), Dr. Pruiett offers patients assurances that their dental care is in the hands of a competent, extensively trained dentist and has a life long passion for dentistry and his commitment to his patients’ needs and concerns work together to assure that his patients will be satisfied with their dental experience. After Dr. Pruiett’s formal training he served as an officer in the Air Force Dental Corps for 3 years and completed his general practice residency. He has continued his training in implant and removable prosthodontics, pediatric care, and patient comfort in post graduate programs upon completing his Air Force residency. Dr Pruiett is a long standing member of the Yakima Dental Society, serving as president in 1998. He has continued to dedicate his time as chairman for the Dental Assisting board from 1991-2002 at YV Tech and is on the Dental Hygiene Board at Yakima Valley Community College. Dr Pruiett is currently serving on the Washington Dental Insurance Agency Board and with the Washington State Dental Association, representing local dentists as a state delegate for over 17 years. Dr. Pruiett is an active supporter of non-profit organizations in the Yakima community, including Greenway Foundation, Yakima Valley Museum, Cowiche Canyon Conservancy, United Way, Riverside Christian School, Zonta Club of Yakima Valley, Yakima County Sherriff’s Appreciation Dinner, YWCA, as well as the Davis, Eisenhower, West Valley and East Valley fundraisers of his patients. He and his wife Patty are raising their two children with both parents actively involved with their growth and education. The family enjoys spending time outdoors hiking, skiing and wind surfing. |
Dental Hygienists
Denise Nelson R.D.H. graduated from Ellensburg High School and moved to Yakima, WA shortly after. She was a dental assistant for 8 years after acquiring her Dental Assisting certificate from Yakima Valley Community College in 1987. Denise then furthered her education in Dental Hygiene and graduated in 1997 with an Associate of Science degree in Dental Hygiene. She has been working with Dr. Pruiett since she graduated. Denise has been a Dental Hygiene Advisory Board member since 2002. She is also a part-time clinical instructor at the Dental Hygiene school at the Yakima Valley Community College. Denise finds her career to be very fulfilling and rewarding. Developing patient relationships as well as quality skills and team work are thriving forces for her. |

Julie Harris R.D.H. was born and raised in Palo Alto, California. She attended Colorado State University and graduated with a B.S. in Health Science from California State University – Chico. Julie earned her Dental Hygiene degree at Yakima Valley College and has been teaching dental hygiene students for over 25 years. She organizes Sealant Day, an annual community service event that includes the dental hygiene students and dental community providing free sealants to local children. Julie joined our practice in 2006 and enjoys encouraging patients toward better oral health. When not working, she and her husband like to swim, ski, cycle and travel. They have two adult children. |

Patty Pruiett grew up all around the world as a Navy "brat", and the family eventually settled in Port Orchard, Washington. Patty graduated from Eastern Washington University in 1992 with a degree in Exercise Science. After several years of working in California and Washington her interest and desire for dentistry led her to the Yakima Valley where she attended YVCC and received her Associates of Science in Dental Hygiene in 1998. Patty enjoys being active, the outdoors, friends and family. She is married with two beautiful children and feels very fortunate for all the blessings in her life. |
